The 1925 silent film Ísland í lifandi myndum is the first known documentary about Iceland, filmed throughout the country over the summer of 1924. Filmmaker Loftur Guðmundsson was one of the pioneers in Icelandic film history, producing both documentaries and feature films. The film will be shown as part of this year's Faclan Festival with a live score for piano written and performed by Jessica Danz.
