Navigating a journey out of creative silence and across the world, Silence explores endings and beginnings, loss and change. The album combines evocative vocals, the rich sound of a grand piano, and orchestral violin textures, weaving together the classical and folk elements in a distinctive musical style.
Featuring seven original songs, as well as an interpretation of the traditional folk song Black is the Colour, all music is performed by Danz on voice, violin and piano. The album ranges in mood from the contemplative opening track 'Falling' to the dark melancholy of Last Waltz, culminating in the rhythmic drive and sweeping interludes of the title track Silence.
"These albums are an attempt to navigate what has been a complex process of metamorphosis and transformation, grief and loss; the upheaval of moving across the world - the inevitable cycle of endings and beginnings. Travelling from a time of silence to a time of creative renewal, I've accepted that music is, and always has been, an inextricable part of who I am. It isn't - and won't ever be - a smooth path, but a complex, challenging relationship that is constantly evolving."
